Pain Parade

           Good morning and Happy Holidays one and all! I am trying to keep the holiday spirit in the midst of my aches and pain. Last week I hurt my back and it was almost done healing up and then boom.. I fell down the steps in front of my house. I was so scared because I was holding my daughter at the time but I turned in such a way that she was fine. I made sure she had the cushy landing on top of me. Lol  She had not a scratch on her, thanks be to God. She ran back up and into the house to get help for me. I am using crutches for the time being. My right foot is swollen and it hurts and my back pain is active again as well. It hurts to take a deep breath, to sneeze or yawn it hurts like crazy! I am a little annoyed because I can't really stand up long enough to finish cooking a complete meal. Using the crutches hurt my arm pits, they are tender. I woke up with a slight migraine so my pain parade continues. I pray I am feeling better soon so I can cook Christmas dinner pain-free. I was supposed to be at my daughter's school today to help make the Gingerbread houses but I can't walk so that's out. I feel so bad because she was so excited about it.  My pain parade is ruining so many things but I thank God for life in spite of.  Have a wonderful day!

Thankful and full.....

I am sooo full and tired. I can't wait to just kick back, relax and watch Netflix. I hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving and great meals! I didn't have my collard greens and potato salad this year but that's okay.  Have a great night and I pray you all awake happy and blessed!

Thanksgiving Dinner

Good evening,
          I am about to get my holiday cooking underway! I am going to start with my desserts, sweet potato pies are going to be made and baked tonight! I will probably bake the cake and brownies tomorrow night. Tomorrow afternoon I may start cooking everything else. It all depends on how I am feeling. I am looking forward to having all my children here at home at the dinner table for Thanksgiving with my husband and me.
         
          Shop Rite was a mad house the last two days! The parking lot was packed like midtown Manhattan traffic. There was a woman standing in the middle of the street in the parking lot. She seemed like she may be kind of special because she didn't budge as cars swarmed all around her. It was as if she was communicating with someone only she can see, if you know what I mean. I hope she isn't an Alzheimer's patient out on her own.

         It's cold outside this evening so it's perfect baking weather. I can't wait to get started on my pies!  The house is going to smell amazingly delicious tonight. Woo Wee Wednesday

Good evening,

      Today was to much for me. I woke up with a banging headache to kick off the drama! I had to hop out of bed wash my face, brush my teeth and get my daughter something to wear for school. I had to wake her up a few times to finally get her out of bed. Once she got up, washed and dressed I took the rollers out of her hair. Grabbed the brush and fluffed her hair a bit. I made some coffee and sat down a while to try and get my head together to deal with the day ahead. I was supposed to wash a few things for my husband but forgot! After the coffee I took my shower, did my make up and then woke my other daughter up to prepare her for school. Once she was ready to go, I got some clothes on and ran to the store with my husband. When we got back I planned to wash the few items for Him, tidy up and start dinner. I came across a paper on my nightstand at 1:22pm that I am due at my daughter's school for pumpkin decorating at 1:30! I put my boots and coat back on and rushed out to the school. I got home about 20 minutes before it was time for my husband to get up for work. I ironed his clothes and then ran out to get him some lunch being that I didn't get to cook anything. Needless to say I am rushing around like a marathon runner. I got the lunch for my husband and got back just in time to receive my daughter from the school bus. Whem it's time for my husband to leave out for work he realized the jacket he needed washed and ready for now didn't get cleaned. I felt so bad I didn't get to wash the jacket for him. Once all the children got home from school we rushed out so I could give them dinner. I stopped in at Dunkin Donuts to grab a Caramel Machiatto which they didn't have but I had already paid for. So they made me a coffee similar to the Machiatto, in their opinion. It was okay but nothing to write home about and the girls grabbed donuts. We then proceeded to go visit my mom for about an hour and a half. We were supposed to go to Walmart on the way home because I needed to purchase more tissue and toothpaste. I was so tired I forgot! I guess I'll be going tomorrow but for now I am going to sleep. Hoping tomorrow is a much better day! Good night and God bless!

Coffee Catastrophe

Good afternoon,

    Last night Dunkin Donuts disappointed me yet again. I was low on time so I made an order on the go with my Dunkin Donuts app. I ordered a medium, hot caramel latte and went I pulled up into the drive thru I told them I was picking up an on the go order. They repeated the order back to me and announced that they were just about to make it, seriously!!!! The whole point of order on the go is it's done in advance so you don't have to wait when you don't have a lot of time. So I proceed to wait while on pins and needles because I had to pick my son up from football practice within minutes. The young man comes to the window about 5 minutes later with an iced coffee. I told him, that's not mine maybe it's the person's order behind me. Then he says you ordered a caramel latte right? I said yes I did but a hot one not an iced latte. He goes back and looks at the order recipt and returns to the window saying, oh my bad I read the order recipt wrong. He goes back and starts gathering up the stuff to make a hot latte and I really didn't have the time to wait and it wasn't fair to all the people behind us waiting for their orders. I told him just forget it! Just give me the iced latte because I don't have time to wait. I was a little on the chilly side last night and was looking forward to a nice hot cup of coffee. I guess I will try again today but at Wawa where I can make my own coffee to my liking. Have a blessed Friday America!!!!

Sunday stuff

Good afternoon!
       It was looking a little on the grey side this morning but now the sun is shining. I had my morning coffee and meds to try to get this headache under some kind of control. It's eased quite a bit at this point but some pain still lingers. Nevertheless I have things to tend to. I must get the kids things ready for the school week. Snacks have to be purchased and prepared. Outfits picked out, put together and put up. Life doesn't stop because you are in pain. Mothers know how it is; we must keep it moving in spite of. 
         Anyway, wishing everyone a great day and enjoy the sunshine and the warmth for it will soon be over. Fall and Winter is right around the corner, as you can tell by the cool evenings we've been having.

The Big Rip off called Ambulance

Good Morning!
           Okay I received the bill from my day at the ER a few weeks ago. I knew the hospital bill would be ridiculous because they are rip offs, always have been. What I didn't know was that when you are in an emergency situation and you take an ambulance you would be better off calling Uber! I had a bad migraine that day but I had to take my daughter to get her physical for Kindergarten. The doctor there didn't like how I was looking so she took my blood pressure. It was very very high so they called my dr who is also in the same building. Now my doctor told them to call an ambulance because I am stroke zone. Next thing I knew they came out to tell me the ambulance is on the way because my BP is dangerously high and I must be admitted at the ER now! I wasn't prepared for that because I still had kids at home to tend to and my husband was sleeping for work. My son was with me so he said he would drive me to ER but the dr's wouldn't allow it. They kind of forced the ambulance ride on me. They didn't do anything on the ride to the hospital except ask me a few health questions and gave me oxygen. Now can you please tell me how a 20 minute ride to the hospital warrants a price tag of $3,500? I'm not understanding that at all!!! I can see giving you money for gas and tolls and maybe a tip for hospitality but damn $3,500!! I didn't even get a glass of water! It should be illegal to do this! Needless to say, next time if I am having a damn heart attack I will call Uber or a cab before I call the ambulance! It's the biggest Rip off of all time!!! I am so done with them!! That is a shame before God and man to be charging folks that obscene amount!

Back To School Prepping

                          Oh my goodness, I cannot believe school starts on Tuesday! The kids are excited and I am curious to see how Faith takes on Kindergarten. She is so used to playing with older children so to see her interact and get used to kids that are 5 years old will be interesting. I am tired beyond measure running this one here and that one there every day. Isaiah with football, Dimitri with work, and I even had to drive my son Elijah back to college last week. I had a migraine at the time so driving to another state was not on my list of things to want to do, lol. I had to get my husband's things ready for work and cook lunch and dinner. Get my son to his football game which was about 35 minutes away, get back in time for him to shower, change, and eat. No time for sleeping and conquering the migraine at all. Just time to gas up the truck, pack the kiddies in and roll! I was drained but I kept my spirits up and made the best of the drive. It was just about evening so we didn't have much daylight to sightsee. The real estate in that area is gorgeous, might I add. Once I got home I just went to bed. I washed my face, brushed my teeth and just went down for the count!

          Anyway, today and the days prior to I have been running here and there gathering up school supplies for the kids and getting the school clothes. They still need raincoats, rain boots, and sneakers. I wanted to make sure they had an all white pair and an all black pair. Isaiah still needs two binders, which will cost about $40. He also needs a few two pocket folders; we pretty much have the rest he needs, oh yeah and a backpack! Faith needs a backpack and lunch pail as well. They all need more outfits.  Instead of calling it back to school it needs to be called Back To Broke! The supplies have to be a certain brand and everything! It's really ridiculous how much we are putting out in supplies! Okay, God knows I am so tired and I can't wait for my head to hit the pillow. First I have to take some Excederin to try and ease back some of the morning migraine. Good night and good morning, I should say because it's already after midnight and it's Monday!              Good afternoon and happy Tuesday! Hoping everyone is feeling great today and getting things done. My eyes are so irritated today but that's okay, I can deal; it's better than having a migraine. I'm sure a lot of people tuned into the Met Gala last night but I missed it. I did however take a quick peek at Blake Lively, Emily Blunt, and Keri Washington's baby bumps. Shout out to the pregnant lovelies! Lately I've noticed the celebs aren't really doing it up on the red carpet anymore. They aren't doing the glamorous movie star look, haven't really seen that much.  
             Anyway, I am finishing up my cup of coffee and going to start dinner. We will be dining on Baked Ziti and Italian bread this evening. My daughter requested this about a week ago so I will be granting her wish today. (Lol) This weather is perfect for baking so that's a plus. Have a wonderful day! God bless!

To tell or not to tell?

Cold, thunder and light rain

      I was just thinking about how people seem to get upset when people don't let them know when they are very ill. On one hand I guess I can understand how people feel like the individual robbed them of having time with them before they passed away. On the other hand, I can see how the ill individual feels about not telling their loved ones. When I think about it, the ill person isn't robbing you of having time with them at all. I feel as though if people don't normally make time for you in life while you are well, what's the point?  I wouldn't want anyone giving me their time and attention out of pity. It's really about your own self-guilt because you chose to never make time for them. You robbed yourself because you chose not to come around and have quality time. It's amazing how people come to the funeral and want to act so heartbroken that the individual is dead but while they were alive you didn't call or visit. I guess the only person who needs to know you are dying is your spouse because they will be the one making the arrangements. Bottom line is this, don't show love because I am at death's door because that is fake! Ain't nobody got time for dat!!! If you don't want to chill with me now don't come around when I am damn near dead. Real Talk indeed! Good night and God bless!

Rainy & Chilly

      I am so tired of hearing and seeing how the media constantly tries to make the death of the wealthy more important than others. They don't spend time on glorifying the life of a great mother or father of the average American family. That dad that busts his butt on his feet hours and hours to support his family. That single parent who gave their all to take care of their child/children. What about that stay at home parent who gave wholeheartedly of themselves 24.7 365? They don't boost them up in the media and these people die daily! When a celebrity dies they get about a week of talking about how great they were, what they did and how much money they had. I really don't understand that! Now if you want to glorify the death of someone worthy let's put JESUS on top of the list. That was the only death that saves lives all over the world. Jesus is also the only one who died and rose again. Now if that is not buzzworthy, I don't know what is!!!!

Young folks.. Can be a heartache or a blessing

        My goodness, the youth of today is quite a puzzle! Why are some of them so hard headed and strong willed on doing the wrong things? As parents, we do our best to lead and guide them towards the right path. Well, unfortunately, they get amongst their peers and sometimes follow the wrong crowd. Some of our youth can be amongst their peers but choose to do the right things for themselves. We only have one sure thing to depend on and that is prayer. Whether or not your child is a heartache or a blessing, pray for them just the same.

Allergies & Laundry

            The weather was excellent today but the allergies were horrible! I was doing some laundry and noticed I was rewashing things. I don't know how clothes that were already washed and folded ended up back in the dirty clothes hamper? Quite annoying because it's a waste of time, water and detergent. I am very happy it is Friday because I am drained. Have a blessed weekend all!

Sluggish Saturday

                                                                    Breakfast Time

     My youngest daughter went to bed at about 9:15 last night but she woke up at 5:15 this morning. I am so sluggish this morning. I was up later than she was so she got the jump on me. I am late making breakfast this morning. The rainy and grey weather isn't helping at all. A headache is always one of the first things to greet me when I open my eyes in the morning. I thank God for seeing a new day and that He saw fit that I was worthy to live and bless with another day with my loved ones. Have a wonderful day all and stay warm and dry.

Winter weather for Spring!!

      I was really looking forward to seeing Spring but apparently it doesn't seem to get here. It's cold, raining off and on, and snow is heading our way. Seriously??? On another note, I am glad to be alive and well. Today is my best friend's birthday! I thank God for her and I pray her day is blessed with joy unspeakable and lots of gifts and good times. The pain

Good evening!
    My goodness it just seems like I cannot get the proper sleep  I need to feel well rested. I really want to put some quality time into my writing but it just doesn't seem to be happening for me. Today my right shoulder and neck has been aching. It hurts to even type this little bit. I will be praying to sleep well and awake feeling refreshed. For now I just have to take some Tylenol and hope for the best. Good night and God bless!!!

More Dunkin Drama

      I am still trying to understand why it's so hard to get a person who can make a Caramel Machiatto properly more than once? I truly believe Dunkin Donuts should really spend more time training their workers on how to make this latte. You go on Monday and they make it right but by Tuesday they can't, seriously??Oh and don't let it go on sale then they really mess it up!!! Maybe they should just hire a Barista to just stay to make all the Lattes. I want my coffee done right for the price they are charging! I wish I can work there just to see how it's done and find out if this is such a complicated latte to make properly, consistently! I ordered a large Caramel Machiatto this evening and there wasn't a drop of caramel in it! On that note, I am going to sleep.

Winter blues

Good evening,
         I am so ready for the winter to be over. The cold weather and the getting dark so early is annoying. Between the two, it makes you just want to stay in the house and lay down. I love warmth and sunshine, winter and I are not friends. This is one season I love to see end! On another note, my husband and I went to Dunkin Donuts this afternoon. I ordered a Caramel Machiatto and they made something but it wasn't a CM! I had to turn around and go back so they could make my drink right! As much as these businesses charge for latte they really need to make them properly. I ordered a large one from another Dunkin Donuts the other night and it was horrible.Everyone cannot make this latte, they should start training their workers a little better when making a Caramel Machiatto.
         It's getting late and I am drained so I am going to say good night and God bless! Sweet dreams and have a wonderful Wednesday!
